Deborah Mechigian

Chicago was my home and fashion design my profession for 14 years before I moved to the open skies of Southern Arizona.Soon after I began a culinary career specializing in gourmet wedding cakes all the while perfecting and exploring painting techniques in watercolor and more recently acrylic.

I met my mentor and teacher, Lilias Apland - ie, The Crayon Lady, several years ago after struggling to put on canvas the brilliant colors and forms of the desert. Lilias taught me the skills, technique and form to take my love of color and landscape to a new level and have an understanding of line, tone, color, composition and appeal to pass onto others.

After moving to my dream property in Dragoon, which has a million dollar view and a bunch of really cool rocks, I turned some of my creative energy to rock hounding, lapidary and silver smithing.
